Burak lends his compassion for people, in addition to his globe-trotting personal story, to help continue Sobirovs Law Firm’s long tradition of championing individuals to build their world within the world-at-large.
Born in Ankara, Turkey, and a self-described baklava aficionado, Burak completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics at Ege University in Izmir, located on Turkey’s western Aegean coast.
Landing in Boston, Massachusetts, he obtained a Certificate in Business Administration at the internationally attended Computer Systems Institute (CSI). As an immigrant on a student visa in the United States, Burak experienced first-hand what many immigrants face looking past borders to secure their dreams.
Rather than returning to his native Turkey, he decided he would help others overcome the same barriers he faced; and with this knowledge, work to make the immigration process easier.
In 2018, Burak completed the Immigration Consultant Diploma Program at the Academy of Learning College in Toronto, and will write the exam this coming February (Good luck, Burak!). He has spent the past year working at Sobirovs Law Firm as an Intake Coordinator. The key to effective client compassion, he says, is involving himself “in every client’s situation, so they feel comfortable in their transition to life in Canada.”
Burak volunteers in his free time at the 519 Church & Wellesley Community Centre, where he helps seniors and low-income people file their taxes. His passions include skiing, swimming and hiking--“anything outdoors,” he says.
Burak is fluent in both Turkish and English.
